Road trip along the American east coast

REPORT
I had a dream! “Rent a car, put some music on and get ready for a roadtrip along the Atlantic coast. Travel through nine states along bustling cities, sweet little villages and a wonderful coastline.” Maybe I should put this on my 'to-do-list'. Because until now, it just remains in my dreams. But we will always dream and sometimes we will fulfill one of these dreams.

Next is one of my many dreams and by reading this, you might get also a lot of desire to the east coast.

Get in the car and born again to be wild!
A historic highway ‘U.S. Route 1’ along the east coast of the United States of nearly four thousand kilometers long runs all the way from the most northern tip of Maine, close to the Canadian border, to the southern Key West in Florida. This American highway connects most of the major cities on the east coast with each other, such as Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and Miami.

So, the ideal place to start your road trip to the east coast is New York City. Here you should definitely visit the world's most popular museums, admire the legendary skyscrapers and shop till late night. To escape the hustle and bustle of the city you can relax in Central Park where runners, dog walkers, and all sorts of other strange figures hang out. If you're more than satisfied with the Big Apple, you can travel further along the coast to the south.

In New Jersey you pass along the gambling paradise Atlantic City. Maybe a little gamble here? Or not? That will depend on your budget. Myself am not a gambler with money. For the rest is my whole life one big gamble. From New Jersey you go to Delaware. Grab here your beach chair, a good book and soak in the sun while enjoying some carefree days on the coast. Or hike, observe, bike and paddle your way throught exciting discoveries in the outdoor. Later you'll drive to Maryland. America’s largest estuary, cypress trees and a subartic swamp, are only a few of Maryland’s natural wonders.

The next big city is Washington D.C. The capital of the United States is in no state and lies between Maryland and Virginia. Of course is the White House on your visit list. Other famous buildings you should definitely visit, are the Capitol, the Pentagon and the Supreme Court. If you have recorded all this history, it's time to drive to Virginia.

Visite Richmond in Virginia and discover an essential chapter of America’s history in the cobblestone streets, the river walks and the monuments. Originally a colonial settlement, Virginia’s capital is now a thriving hub for culture, shopping and outdoor fun. Explore Civil War history at the Museum of the Confederacy, stroll along the canal downtown or test your nerve whitewater rafting on the James River. With lively neigbourhoods and a vibrant restaurants scene, Richmond is perfect for a quick break or an extented getaway.

Then you will reach North Carolina with its pristine and deserted beaches along the Atlantic coast. Here you are also half your road trip. Once in South Carolina you can’t miss the typical resort of Myrtle Beach. Here you can enjoy every night of live performances and you can walk on one of the most beautiful boulevards of the country, also called the 'boardwalk'. After Myrtle Beach can you continue towards Georgia. Explore the Northeast Georgia Mountains and its scenic views and small towns. Discover also the tumbling waterfalls and a variety of beautiful, pristine lakes.

The final destination is then Florida. The always sunny Florida is also called the Sunshine State. Take the time to visite the most beautiful natural parks of the American east coast, but of course visite also Disney World and the city Miami. Pearl white beaches, pastel-coloured houses and year-round warm weather: the ideal place to relax at the end of a long road trip. You can also continue all the way to the Florida Keys: 1700 small islands on the edge of the Caribbean. And that is really enjoy.

Someone else who like to make dreams come true?
